PARKERSBURG — Mister Bee Potato Chips plans to assemble a half-million-dollar warehouse subsequent to its area on West Virginia Avenue in Parkersburg.

Mary Anne Ketelsen, owner of West Virginia Potato Chip Co., mentioned the project and other recent advancements to the ability when state Secretary of Commerce Ed Gaunch toured Thursday.

“I’m getting ready to build a ten,000-rectangular-foot warehouse round the corner as a result of I’m waiting for more enterprise,” Ketelsen said.

“It just excites me that we have local businesses like Mister Bee that we are able to rejoice,” Gaunch talked about.

After travelling the creation area, Ketelsen and Graham met with Gaunch; Morganne Tenney, company retention and growth manager for the West Virginia building workplace; and Lindsey Piersol, government director of wood County economic development; to focus on approaches state government can help the enterprise.

Tenney stated tax credits are available on initiatives that represent an investment back within the company. “These machines have introduced our charges down … 40 percent,” she referred to.

“We’re getting more out of those potatoes with these machines,” Graham added.

There are about 15 employees working in the construction enviornment, a 35 percent boost from before Ketelsen took over remaining 12 months. The company is co-packaging — making chips for different corporations — for five corporations, including a corporation from California who has them making cheese-flavored chips to pair with wine, Graham said.

“As we develop as a co-packer, we could be capable of double that 15,” he observed.

Ketelsen spoke of she is pursuing partnerships with other groups and searching to position Mister Bee chips in new areas, just like the state correctional equipment and extra faculties and universities. Mister Bee chips are already bought at Marietta school and Ohio Valley tuition.
